JOB TITLE: Conflicts Analyst
STATUS: Exempt
Type: Full Time

The Conflicts Analyst is the member of the Finance Department responsible for administering the firm’s new business intake process from the initial conflicts search through setting up new clients / client matters in the practice management system. This role includes responsibility for constructing appropriate search strategies, a command of Boolean search terms, analyzing and selecting the conflicts results while highlighting critical issues and communicating this information directly with firm partners. This position will work closely with firm attorneys, paralegals, administrative assistants, the CFO, and the Risk Management oversight partner.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid or fully remote working schedule for residents of the state of North Carolina. Out of state residents will not be considered due to tax compliance considerations. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Qualifications:
•A minimum of three years (3) relevant experience designing, executing, analyzing, and clearing conflicts searches in a medium to large sized law firm.
•Proficiency with the conflicts module of any leading legal industry practice management system is required; strong preference for 3E / 3E Cloud.
•Intermediate to advanced understanding of Boolean logic / search connectors.
•Strong Excel skills including the ability to export large amounts of raw data from the billing system, pivot/analyze it and produce reports, analysis, tables, or charts as needed.
•Considerable experience exercising judgment and discretion in analyzing results, identifying/escalating issues, and determining which results to include in the report distributed to attorneys.
•Working knowledge of NC Bar’s Conflicts of Interest standards.
•Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills.
•Exceptional attention to detail.
•Exceptional communication skills: able to effectively manage expectations and convey critical information to others from administrative staff to senior partners.
•Ability to prioritize competing requests and stay on top of high service volumes.
•Must be able to work independently and solve problems with limited direction; this is not an entry level position.
•Ability to work overtime as needed.
•Must work with discretion and maintain the absolute confidentiality of client matters.

Education:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
•JD or paralegal training preferred
