Responsibilities:
- Accurately processes multi-state payroll bi-weekly, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws for employees.
- Ensures the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations are accurate and timely.
- Collects, verifies and uploads employee data from the time reporting system into the payroll system.
- Audits payroll reports, quarterly filings, TYD earnings, etc.
- Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment. Verifies benefit billing accuracy.
- Responds to and monitors FMLA and Reasonable Accommodation Requests.
- Files EEO-1 report and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner.
- Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
- Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2-3 years experience in Human Resources and payroll processing
- Knowledge of labor and employment laws
- Ability to build rapport with all employees
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
