Human Resource Generalist/Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately processes multi-state payroll bi-weekly, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws for employees.
  • Ensures the processing of new hires, temporary workers, transfers, promotions and terminations are accurate and timely.
  • Collects, verifies and uploads employee data from the time reporting system into the payroll system.
  • Audits payroll reports, quarterly filings, TYD earnings, etc.
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment. Verifies benefit billing accuracy.
  • Responds to and monitors FMLA and Reasonable Accommodation Requests.
  • Files EEO-1 report and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner.
  • Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
  • Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2-3 years experience in Human Resources and payroll processing
  • Knowledge of labor and employment laws
  • Ability to build rapport with all employees
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
