Why it matters here

HR training challenges facing Seattle teams

Recruiting pressure stays high around Seattle: Washington employers posted job openings at an average monthly rate of 3.3 percent in 2025 (BLS JOLTS state estimates, retrieved 2026-07-27). Every open seat makes keeping the people you already have more valuable, and across King County’s 1,256,361 private-sector jobs, that is a management skills problem before it is a pay problem.

Washington employment context

HR compliance for Washington employers

Washington has no blanket harassment prevention training mandate for private employers, but RCW 49.60.515 requires hotels, motels, retail businesses, security guard companies and property services contractors to train isolated workers, such as housekeepers, janitors and security guards, on preventing sexual assault and harassment. Every Washington employer is also covered by the Washington Law Against Discrimination (RCW 49.60), enforced by the Washington State Human Rights Commission, alongside federal Title VII, the ADA and the ADEA. Washington produced 1,724 EEOC charge receipts in fiscal year 2025 (EEOC Table E1b, FY 2025, retrieved 2026-07-27). Documented, current manager training is the practical first line of defense. Catapult delivers that training to Seattle teams live online, with a completion record for every attendee.

Good to know

Seattle HR training questions

Is harassment prevention training required in Washington state?

Not for most private employers. Washington requires training only for isolated workers, such as housekeepers, janitors and security guards, at hotels, motels, retail, security and property services companies under RCW 49.60.515. All Seattle employers remain covered by the Washington Law Against Discrimination and federal Title VII.

Yes. Every public session is delivered live online, so a Seattle team joins the same class as attendees anywhere in the country. Sessions are posted in Eastern Time, and a noon Eastern start is a 9:00 AM seat locally. The only physical classrooms are in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Everything an HR team buys training for: compliance and harassment prevention, manager development, professional skills, technology and certification prep. Course pages show upcoming dates, and any session can be delivered privately for a Seattle group, online or at your site.

Most do. Courses list HRCI and SHRM credit on their registration pages, and attendees receive completion records for their recertification files. Both credentialing bodies work on 3-year cycles, so a steady course cadence beats a last-minute scramble.

Yes, and it is often the better fit for cohorts of 10 or more. Catapult runs private sessions for Seattle employers live online or on-site, scheduled around shifts and time zones, with the same HRCI and SHRM credit and completion records.
