Why it matters here

HR training challenges facing Washington teams

Washington’s private employers reported 3,008,603 jobs across 236,885 establishments in 2025 (BLS Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, 2025 annual averages, retrieved 2026-07-27), with workers quitting at an average monthly rate of 1.6 percent in 2025 (BLS JOLTS state estimates, retrieved 2026-07-27). State law adds a training mandate for isolated workers in hospitality, retail, security and property services (RCW 49.60.515). Catapult keeps your team trained and ahead of the changes.

Good to know

Washington HR training questions

Does Washington state require harassment prevention training?

Only for specific industries. RCW 49.60.515 requires hotels, motels, retail, security guard and property services companies to train isolated workers such as housekeepers and guards. There is no general mandate, but the Washington Law Against Discrimination covers employers with 8 or more employees statewide.

Employment law guidance reviewed by Karol Dixon, Senior HR Advisor, and Cindy Satter, Senior HR Advisor, SHRM-SCP, PHR. See Catapult HR Advisors.

Yes. Every public session is delivered live online, so a Washington team joins the same class as attendees anywhere in the country. Sessions are posted in Eastern Time, and a noon Eastern start is a 9:00 AM seat locally. The only physical classrooms are in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina.

Leadership and management, harassment prevention and compliance, professional development, technology skills and HR certification prep, delivered live online or privately on-site. The compliance and frontline-management courses map directly to the people issues health care employers around Washington handle daily.

Most of them carry credit. Courses list HRCI and SHRM credit on their registration pages, and attendees receive completion records for their recertification files. Both credentialing bodies work on 3-year cycles, so a steady course cadence beats a last-minute scramble.

Yes. Private delivery works two ways for Washington organizations: a live online session reserved for your team, or facilitators on-site at your location. Content can be tailored to your policies, and scheduling follows your calendar and your time zone.
