Why it matters here

HR training challenges facing Illinois teams

Illinois’s private employers reported 5,242,642 jobs across 371,557 establishments in 2025 (BLS Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, 2025 annual averages, retrieved 2026-07-27), with workers quitting at an average monthly rate of 2.0 percent in 2025 (BLS JOLTS state estimates, retrieved 2026-07-27). Illinois requires annual sexual harassment prevention training for every employee under 775 ILCS 5/2-109, enforced by the Illinois Department of Human Rights. Catapult keeps your team trained and ahead of the changes.

Local roots

Serving employers across Illinois

From 5-person shops to 500-employee organizations, Catapult delivers live online and private HR training across Illinois’s 5,242,642 private-sector jobs and 371,557 establishments (BLS Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, 2025 annual averages, retrieved 2026-07-27). Illinois employers faced 5,180 EEOC charge receipts in fiscal year 2025 (EEOC Table E1b, FY 2025, retrieved 2026-07-27); trained managers are the difference between a conversation and a charge.

Good to know

Illinois HR training questions

Is sexual harassment training mandatory in Illinois?

Yes. Under 775 ILCS 5/2-109 of the Illinois Human Rights Act, every Illinois employer must give all employees sexual harassment prevention training at least once a year, from the first employee on payroll. The Illinois Department of Human Rights publishes a free model program and enforces the requirement with civil penalties.

Employment law guidance reviewed by Karol Dixon, Senior HR Advisor, and Cindy Satter, Senior HR Advisor, SHRM-SCP, PHR. See Catapult HR Advisors.

Distance is not the constraint. All open-enrollment courses run live online, and Illinois attendees join peers nationwide. Times are posted in Eastern Time, and a noon Eastern start is an 11:00 AM seat locally. Private on-site delivery is the alternative when you want a room of your own people.

Leadership and management, harassment prevention and compliance, professional development, technology skills and HRCI and SHRM certification prep. Around Illinois, demand follows the jobs: health care accounts for 865,895 positions in Illinois (BLS QCEW, 2025 annual averages), and the compliance and supervision courses map straight to it.

Yes. Most Catapult courses are approved for HRCI and SHRM recertification credit. Both bodies require 60 credits on a 3-year cycle, so a regular course cadence keeps HR professionals current, and every attendee gets a completion record.

Yes. Private delivery for Illinois organizations runs either live online, reserved for your team, or on-site with a facilitator at your location, scheduled around your calendar and your time zone.
