Why it matters here

HR training challenges facing Oklahoma City teams

Oklahoma County’s 418,039 private-sector jobs are spread across 24,877 employer establishments, and 94 percent of those establishments employ fewer than 50 people (Census County Business Patterns, 2023, retrieved 2026-07-27). Lean teams mean the person handling a tough conversation is rarely an HR specialist. Training the managers you already have is the fix that scales.

Oklahoma employment context

HR compliance for Oklahoma employers

Oklahoma does not mandate harassment prevention training for private employers. The Oklahoma Anti-Discrimination Act (25 O.S. section 1101 and following) prohibits workplace discrimination and harassment and reaches employers with as few as one employee, a far broader sweep than federal Title VII’s 15-employee floor. It is enforced by the Office of Civil Rights Enforcement in the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office, and charges can be cross-filed with the EEOC, which recorded 1,004 Oklahoma charge receipts in fiscal year 2025 (EEOC Table E1b, FY 2025, retrieved 2026-07-27). With no statute setting a training bar, federal case law does: under the Faragher and Ellerth decisions, an employer with a real policy and documented manager training holds an affirmative defense to supervisor harassment claims. For Oklahoma City employers, Catapult’s instructor-led online sessions cover exactly this ground and document it.

Local industries

Training for Oklahoma City’s key industries

Oklahoma County’s private employment runs on Health Care (79,441 jobs), Retail (48,202), Hospitality and Food Service (47,164) and Administrative Services (35,823) (BLS Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, 2025 annual averages, retrieved 2026-07-27). Each brings its own HR pressure points, and our courses are built around them.

Health Care

Average pay $72,523 in Oklahoma County (BLS QCEW, 2025). Credential renewals, mandatory reporting and burnout make every charge nurse a people manager.

Retail

3,216 establishments in Oklahoma County (BLS QCEW, 2025). Young, high-turnover crews reward stores whose managers coach instead of replace.

Hospitality & Food Service

2,385 establishments in Oklahoma County (BLS QCEW, 2025). Tipped pay, late hours and guest pressure produce the complaints that end up in charges.

Administrative Services

2,694 establishments in Oklahoma County (BLS QCEW, 2025). Temp-to-hire pipelines and joint-employer questions demand supervisors who know where the lines are.

Good to know

Oklahoma City HR training questions

Is harassment prevention training required in Oklahoma?

No. Oklahoma mandates no workplace harassment training. The Oklahoma Anti-Discrimination Act still covers employers from the first employee, enforced by the Attorney General’s Office of Civil Rights Enforcement, and Oklahoma produced 1,004 EEOC charge receipts in fiscal year 2025. Oklahoma City employers train supervisors voluntarily to manage that exposure.

Yes. Every public session is delivered live online, so a Oklahoma City team joins the same class as attendees anywhere in the country. Sessions are posted in Eastern Time, and a noon Eastern start is an 11:00 AM seat locally. The only physical classrooms are in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina.

The catalog covers leadership and management, harassment prevention, professional development, technology skills and HRCI and SHRM certification prep. For Oklahoma City employers, demand concentrates where local employment does: health care accounts for 79,441 jobs in Oklahoma County (BLS QCEW, 2025 annual averages).

Yes, most courses carry both HRCI and SHRM recertification credit. That matters locally: the Oklahoma City area employs 3,900 HR specialists (BLS OEWS, May 2025), and each needs 60 recertification credits every 3 years. Completion records arrive after every session.

Yes. Bring a cohort and Catapult will run the session for your organization alone, live online or at your Oklahoma City site, tailored to your policies, with the same recertification credit and completion records as the public sessions.
