Why it matters here

HR training challenges facing Provo teams

Recruiting pressure stays high around Provo: Utah employers posted job openings at an average monthly rate of 4.0 percent in 2025 (BLS JOLTS state estimates, retrieved 2026-07-27). Every open seat makes keeping the people you already have more valuable, and across Utah County’s 265,560 private-sector jobs, that is a management skills problem before it is a pay problem.

Utah employment context

HR compliance for Utah employers

Utah does not require private employers to run harassment prevention training. The Utah Antidiscrimination Act prohibits workplace discrimination and harassment at employers with 15 or more employees and is enforced by the Utah Antidiscrimination and Labor Division (UALD) at the Utah Labor Commission. Federal Title VII applies at the same 15-employee threshold, and Utah generated 408 EEOC charge receipts in fiscal year 2025 (EEOC Table E1b, FY 2025, retrieved 2026-07-27). With no statute setting a training bar, federal case law does: under the Faragher and Ellerth decisions, an employer that shows a genuine policy and documented manager training holds an affirmative defense to supervisor harassment claims. A fixed two-year training cycle is the standard Provo employers borrow from mandate states. Catapult delivers that training to Provo teams live online, with a completion record for every attendee.

Their people problems differ, and so does the training they need.

Professional Services

Good to know

Provo HR training questions

Does the Utah Antidiscrimination Act cover small employers?

It covers employers with 15 or more employees, the same threshold as federal Title VII. Smaller Provo businesses sit outside both statutes, but that is no shelter in practice: turnover, references and local reputation punish mishandled complaints, and untrained managers are how complaints get mishandled.

Yes. Every session is live online and open to anyone in Utah. Sessions are scheduled on Eastern Time and Provo is on Mountain Time, 2 hours behind Eastern, so a noon Eastern start is a 10:00 AM seat locally. In-person seats exist only in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina; everywhere else attends virtually.

Leadership and management, harassment prevention and compliance, professional development, technology skills and HR certification prep, delivered live online or privately on-site. The compliance and frontline-management courses map directly to the people issues health care employers around Provo handle daily.

Yes. Most Catapult courses carry HRCI and SHRM recertification credit, and both bodies run 3-year, 60-credit recertification cycles, so regular attendance keeps HR professionals current without a scramble. Every attendee receives a completion record for their files.

Yes. Private delivery works two ways for Provo organizations: a live online session reserved for your team, or facilitators on-site at your location. Content can be tailored to your policies, and scheduling follows your calendar and your time zone.
