Why it matters here
HR training challenges facing Syracuse teams
Syracuse’s employers compete for people inside a market of 207,816 private-sector jobs across Onondaga County (BLS Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, 2025 annual averages, retrieved 2026-07-27). 93 percent of local establishments employ fewer than 50 people (Census County Business Patterns, 2023, retrieved 2026-07-27), which means people decisions usually sit with owners and line managers, not an HR department. That is exactly who our courses train.

New York employment context
HR compliance for New York employers
New York sets the broadest harassment training mandate in the country. Under Labor Law section 201-g, every employer in the state, regardless of size, must give every employee interactive sexual harassment prevention training at least once a year, and part-time, seasonal and temporary workers all count. Training must meet or exceed the model published by the New York State Department of Labor and the Division of Human Rights, and online delivery qualifies only when it is genuinely interactive. New York City employers with 15 or more employees carry an additional annual training requirement under Local Law 96 of 2018, enforced by the NYC Commission on Human Rights. New York employers also generated 4,132 EEOC charge receipts in fiscal year 2025 (EEOC Table E1b, FY 2025, retrieved 2026-07-27), so completion records are not optional paperwork. For Syracuse employers, Catapult’s instructor-led online sessions satisfy the mandate and document completion.

Good to know
Syracuse HR training questions
What must New York sexual harassment training cover?
At minimum, what the state model covers: an explanation of sexual harassment, examples of prohibited conduct, the federal and state remedies available to complainants, complaint procedures, and supervisors’ additional responsibilities. The model materials come from the Department of Labor and Division of Human Rights, and employers may exceed them.
Distance is not a barrier. All open-enrollment courses run live online, and Syracuse teams attend alongside peers nationwide. Session times are listed in Eastern Time, which matches Syracuse’s clock exactly. Private on-site delivery is the alternative when you want a room of your own people.
Everything an HR team buys training for: compliance and harassment prevention, manager development, professional skills, technology and certification prep. Course pages show upcoming dates, and any session can be delivered privately for a Syracuse group, online or at your site.
Nearly all. HRCI and SHRM approval is listed on each course page, and completion certificates document your hours. If your team holds PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credentials, Catapult sessions slot directly into their recertification plans.
Yes. Catapult delivers private training for Syracuse organizations two ways: facilitators travel to your site, or run a live online session reserved for your team, scheduled around your calendar.
