Why it matters here
HR training challenges facing Buffalo teams
Most employers around Buffalo run lean: 93 percent of Erie County’s 22,497 establishments have fewer than 50 employees (Census County Business Patterns, 2023, retrieved 2026-07-27), spread across 392,127 private-sector jobs (BLS Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, 2025 annual averages, retrieved 2026-07-27). When a complaint or a resignation lands, there is rarely an HR specialist down the hall, so the supervisor’s first response usually decides how it ends.

New York employment context
HR compliance for New York employers
New York sets the broadest harassment training mandate in the country. Under Labor Law section 201-g, every employer in the state, regardless of size, must give every employee interactive sexual harassment prevention training at least once a year, and part-time, seasonal and temporary workers all count. Training must meet or exceed the model published by the New York State Department of Labor and the Division of Human Rights, and online delivery qualifies only when it is genuinely interactive. New York City employers with 15 or more employees carry an additional annual training requirement under Local Law 96 of 2018, enforced by the NYC Commission on Human Rights. New York employers also generated 4,132 EEOC charge receipts in fiscal year 2025 (EEOC Table E1b, FY 2025, retrieved 2026-07-27), so completion records are not optional paperwork. For Buffalo employers, Catapult’s instructor-led online sessions satisfy the mandate and document completion.

Buffalo HR training questions
How often must New York employers repeat sexual harassment training?
Every year. Labor Law section 201-g requires annual interactive training for every employee, on whatever calendar the employer chooses. A 3-person Buffalo shop carries the same duty as a national firm. Most employers fix one annual training month and keep completion records, the first thing an investigator asks to see.
Yes. Every public session is delivered live online, so a Buffalo team joins the same class as attendees anywhere in the country, with no time zone math: courses are posted in Eastern Time, Buffalo’s local time. The only physical classrooms are in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Everything an HR team buys training for: compliance and harassment prevention, manager development, professional skills, technology and certification prep. Course pages show upcoming dates, and any session can be delivered privately for a Buffalo group, online or at your site.
Yes. Most Catapult courses carry HRCI and SHRM recertification credit, and both bodies run 3-year, 60-credit recertification cycles, so regular attendance keeps HR professionals current without a scramble. Every attendee receives a completion record for their files.
Yes. Any course in the catalog can run as a closed session for your Buffalo organization, live online or with a facilitator at your site. You pick the date, we bring the instructor, and every attendee still receives a completion record.
